The Best Dessert Ever This is an absolutely decadently delicious dessert recipe that is MORE than easy to make. Slice fresh strawberries (you can use frozen, but fresh is much MUCH better). Sprinkle lightly with sugar (I use Splenda and it tastes just as good) and refrigerate for at least an hour - up to a day. You want the strawberries to be sweet and juicy. In a champagne flute, spoon a tablespoon or two of vanilla ice cream, followed by a few of the strawberries. Make layers of strawberries and ice cream to fill the glass. Open a chilled bottle of your favorite champage - I like extra dry, myself - and pour over the strawberries and ice cream. Get a long-handled tea spoon and enjoy! This was a family holiday treat that I was only allowed to sample as a child. As soon as I had my own home, it became THE preferred dessert of any celebration. In fact, every year, it is my "birthday cake". There is nothing like it! You're sure to enjoy!
